SPS Product ManualWork StructureAbout Work Structure

Projects are complex and dynamic endeavors that involve numerous stakeholders and requirements. Due to this environment, optimal structuring of the work may be different based on the phases of the work (e.g., design / engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning) and / or the roles of the stakeholders (e.g., some may focus on how work will be coordinated within certain areas that include many systems, whereas others may focus on work related to certain systems spanning across multiple areas). In each case, work must be structured effectively to enable not only optimization efforts, but also the ability to visualize milestones and workflows according to stakeholder needs.

Based on this, SPS|PM enables production teams to systematically organize Project Production data including the means to facilitate analysis and work optimization, commitment of work, and visualization of workflows for reliable forecast of critical objectives.

Structuring work for execution often exposes the need to define production-level objectives and the associated execution processes that are necessary for effective Constraint Analysis and capacity allocation. In doing so, chunks of work that make up complete assets (or deliverables) are identified for control.
