A task is constrained when one or more predecessor tasks are not yet completed. Since all predecessors are not completed, work may not and / or should not begin on the task. It is important to note that all predecessor tasks do not have to include physical work. Since a task can be constrained by the need for information or directives, it is possible that a predecessor task might read something like “Provide information on…”
In the Lookahead, a constrained task shows “Constr” in the Status column and the task entry is displayed in red text.
