A task is released when all predecessor tasks are completed. In SPS|PM, a task’s status automatically changes from Constrained to Released when all existing predecessors are updated as Complete or Completed Not Planned. Once the predecessors have been completed, work on the task may begin at any time, provided the required resources are available. Therefore, if desired, any released task can be loaded on a Production Plan.
A released task shows Rel in the Status column on the Lookahead and the task entry is displayed in green text.
