When a strategy to plan, execute, control and optimize work relies on the use of standard processes, making process design as robust as possible becomes critical. The Standard Process / Split Task Ratio Analytic enables this through an analysis of three parameters: 1) Tasks that belong to standard processes that have been committed to execution through a Production Plan, 2) Tasks that belong to standard processes but were split to be committed for execution, and 3) Tasks that do not belong to any standard process but were committed for execution. The idea is to minimize split tasks and tasks outside standard processes to the extent possible.

To access Standard Process / Split Task Ratio, complete the steps below:

  1. From the Main Navigation Bar select Analytics, then select Standard Process / Split Task Ratio.
  1. Standard Process / Split Task Ratio opens in a new window and automatically displays the Analytic for the team selected under the Team Menu with the default date range of two weeks from the current date.

  1. To view Production Plan Analysis for another team, select the desired team under the Team drop-down.

  1. If a different date range is desired, or no data is visible, adjust the From and To dates or check: Include All, to show all historical data.

The legend elements: SP Tasks, SP Split Tasks and Not SP Tasks are clickable and toggle to display / hide data.

  1. Also use the Pin icon in the top right of the graph to include Standard Process / Split Task Ratio in your Dashboard.

  1. For the selected team(s), Standard Process / Split Task Ratio displays the proportion of standard process tasks (green column), standard process split tasks (blue column) and non-standard process tasks (orange column) for every Production Plan.

If a particular date does not show a type of column, this indicates that on that particular date, SPS|PM did not record any tasks within that category. If no columns are displayed, this indicates a Production Plan was not committed.

  1. If desired, the numerical values for all legend elements may be shown in the Standard Process / Split Task Ratio chart. To display these values, select the checkbox in the ‘Show Values’ section underneath the chart. Note that the legend element must first be activated and displayed in the chart to be able to select the ‘Show Values’ checkbox for that legend element.
  1. To view the data behind the Standard Process / Split Task Ratio calculation for each date along the horizontal axis, click Show Details beneath the graph. To hide the data, click Hide Details.

For each individual date, the data table lists the number of standard process tasks, the number of standard process split tasks and the number of tasks that were not from a standard process. The total number of tasks and average percentages with standard process split tasks and non-split tasks are also shown at the bottom of the table.

  1. In addition to viewing Standard Process / Split Task Ratio for a single team, to view an aggregate Standard Process / Split Task Ratio for all teams select: All, under the Team drop-down.

This feature totals the number of standard process tasks, standard process split tasks and non-standard process tasks committed to Production Plans for all teams to show issues of global work being completed as split tasks from a standard process and tasks not completed from a standard process across the project.
