In contrast with project controls indicators that focus on reporting and forecasting progress, Production Analytics are designed to expose opportunities for improving production performance and optimizing work based on real-time project production data.
A Production Analytic is a performance indicator or metric generated through Project Production Control efforts. Analytics are automatically generated and graphically displayed in SPS|PM based on how one or multiple teams plan, control and execute their work. As long as Project Production Control business processes including Production Planning and Production Scheduling are performed per the Solution configuration, SPS|PM will capture a specific set of Analytics. A Production Analytic should not be confused with a Decision-Support Mechanism in SPS|PM. For more information, see Decision-Support Mechanisms.
