SPS Product ManualTeam Management

Planning, controlling, executing, and optimizing Project Production is typically performed by groups of stakeholders that belong to multiple Disciplines / Trades, companies, and functions on and off the project. These groups will form multidisciplinary teams for the purpose of planning and controlling production. SPS|PM enables the creation and management of multidisciplinary teams for the purpose of Project Production Control. As such, those directly responsible for the work must be entered as users in SPS|PM and later assigned as members of specific teams.

Team leaders or those that have Team-Level Access are responsible for managing their team in SPS|PM. This involves making sure the correct individuals are members of the team, and assigning and modifying each member's level of access / responsibility as required. Team management also involves setting the team's Planning Horizon, Production Plan start day, and working calendar. All team management activities in SPS|PM can only be performed with Team-Level Access and prior to performing any of the activities listed, you must change your Member Role (under the Team Menu) to Team-Level Access.

This section explains how to use SPS|PM to manage teams and provides detailed information on administrative functions associated with admin level 3. For information on levels 4 and 5 functions, see Administration.
